Hailed as the Father of the Ustetika Annual Student Awards for Literature, Victor Emmanuel Carmelo “Vim” Nadera, Jr. served as Varsitarian editor-in-chief from 1987-1988 and assistant publications adviser from 1990-1993. A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the UST College of Science, he is currently the director of the University of the Philippines Institute of Creative Writing.

Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science graduate Paul Val Peña worked as Varsitarian photographer from 1986-1987. At present, he works as Labor Analysis Supervisor in Harrah’s Entertainment Inc., at San Diego, California.
